Hey guys. I know its been ages since my last post. Been busy with Uni life and all. Had my first test this morning was all good.

My uncle and his family from Auckland came to Gold Coast for a holiday (Uncle Sami). Had an awesome time with them.

Thinking about going to Byron bay next weekend. Theres a nice package deal for surf lessons, accomodation, food all included for a nice weekend trip.

Attempted making chicken curry today, kinda failed at it. Took tips from mum, next one should be better.

Really looking forward to next semester where we get practical placements, actually get to use my hands and be a dentist's assistant a few hours a week. Should be great.

Just before easter break

Hi. I have just setup this blog, so I don't need to keep emailing everyone :). Last two weeks have been very interesting, I am really enjoying the University life here. The dental students are a very tight pack, so its really easy to make good friends here.

Surfers paradise is just amazing, it is every students dream place. I have been there a few nights now, the atmosphere here is just phenomenal.

Last week was the Shave for A Cure campaign, a campaign aimed at raising awareness for Leukemia. Part of this is that students are given the opportunity to shave all of their hair, in exchange for large donations towards the Cancer society.

Mum took a while to get used to it, but she's ok with it now. I just wonder how she's going to take it when I show up in New Zealand tomorrow and she see's me in person.

Last night I attended my first ever Toga Party. This is a very educational experience, as we get to learn about the Roman way of life :P. It was a lot of fun, and after having finished two assignments and 6 hours of lab work on Wednesday, a very welcomed break. I will be putting pictures up of this as soon as my flatmate passes them onto me.

Arriving in Australia

Hi guys, as most of you know I'm at Gold Coast, Australia now studying Dental Science at Griffith's University. I just thought I'd send an email to keep people up-to-date with whats happening here.

I left for Gold-Coast only 2 weeks ago now. Since then I have settled down nicely into the Student accommodation. I am glad to say I have 4 other very cool flatmate's, and we have done well together getting all the essentials for the flat, and making this place our own. This last week was orientation week for us at university. The Dental students were given just an outstanding orientation, days full of activities including wax sculpting, competitions for the best chants (Team Colgrate), and great opportunities to meet older students, members of staff and those in the professional community. We were also treated to 7 types of toothbrushes, as well as various other dental products, I am sure I will have to learn about.
